We have just sent a cheque to the value of £1,000 to the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital in Rachel’s name, which is a fantastic total thanks to all of your fundraising ideas.

Leavers’ Service
Our end of term Leavers’ Service will be held in Church at 9.30 am, tomorrow, Friday 16th July.

Children should be brought to school as normal and will walk up to Church in class groups.
Parents/Carers, family and friends are all very welcome to attend.

On Friday 16th July, school will finish for the summer holidays at the slightly earlier time of 3.00 pm.

Well done …
to Ryan and Leah Eddleston who have excelled again in the National Open Swimming event at Manchester. Leah won gold in 200m fly and bronze in 50m fly, also coming 4th in 50m breaststroke and 6th in 100m breaststroke. Ryan won gold in 200m breaststroke and silver in 50m breaststroke, 50m fly and 200m backstroke. Didn’t they both do well!!

Tuck Shop
Unfortunately, due to increasing costs, we have no option but to increase our Healthy Tuck Shop prices from September 2010. The new prices will be as follows:
Toast – 15p
Juice – 15p
Milk – 25p
KS2 fruit will remain the same price at 15p.

Holiday Workshops
Pye Studios are running Childrens’ Holiday Workshops on the theme of Recycled Rainforests on Monday 26th July and Mondays 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd August. Times are from 1.15-2.45 pm or from 3.00-4.30 pm. Cost is £5 and booking is essential. Contact Pye Studios on 01942 522521.

The end of an era…
In our bid to increase electronic communication and reduce our carbon footprint, this will be the last newsletter printed and sent home. From September, all weekly newsletters will be sent by Parentmail and one copy posted on the Noticeboard in the playground. Any parents/carers needing a paper copy will need to request one at the school office on Thursday afternoons. Please ensure you have signed up to the Parentmail system to ensure you don’t miss any vital text messages or e-mails. Thanks.
